Pina Colada Cake at the Sugar Hill Diner

As you walk in the entrance to the Sugar Hill Diner to the left is the full service bar, rest rooms next to the bar in the back and to the right as you walk to be seated you are greeted with the beautiful array of huge gourmet style cakes.

I love cake, cookies, pies and all that yummy sweet stuff so I always stop and peer into the glass picking out my dessert before I am seated. I usually order accordingly so that I save enough room for some of that yummy goodness that met me at the door.

You can always order it to go for later at home too.

My eyes caught what I thought was a coconut cake but it wound up being something much better. As my friends placed their dinner orders I ordered the cake. The waiter tells me that it is actually a "pina colada cake". I figured "bring it on"! What cake haven't I liked?

This cake as you can see in the picture was huge. I only ate half and shared the other half with others but this cake was so good I could have easily finished the whole thing. This $6.00 piece of cake is great for two to share. It tasted exactly like a pina colada in cake form. The cake was light and fluffy and the layers were filled with pineapple, whipped cream frosting/topping and coconut. The plate was elegantly drizzled with raspberry.

The Sugar Hill Diner is upscale, has a great filled cake counter, full service bar, great food and a wonderful, friendly and accommodating staff.
